White Bean Hummus

Here is a fantastic appetizer option. Spread this hummus liberally on toasted sliced sesame bread. Top it with chopped green olives and cilantro OR with caramelized onions.

 

3 cups white beans, cooked, or canned, drained and rinsed
4 cloves garlic
2 tbsp harissa (Substitute : Sriracha sauce or just plain hot sauce)
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
3 tbsp tahini
1 tbsp fresh rosemary leaves
1/2 cup olive oil
Salt and pepper

Place beans, garlic, harissa, lemon juice, and tahini in the bowl of a food processor and process until smooth. With the machine running, slowly add the olive oil until mixed well. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Serve as a Dip with toasted pita bread, sourdough bread or just plain white bread. Or you can also make an appetizer out of it. Click here for an interesting recipe that calls for this hummus.
